Kilcrohane is located on the Sheep's Head peninsula in the far west of County Cork. It is about 1 hour 45 minutes drive from Cork Airport or about 5 hours driving time from the ferry terminal at Rosslare. There are full travel details available as a download on the Booking page.
You can use the zoom and navigation controls on the map to explore the local area, or use Streetview to have a tour round Kilcrohane.
There are two pubs in the village. The closest to the house is Eileen's Bar which does sandwiches at lunchtime, live music some evenings and has Sky Sports on the TV. Another minute down the road is the Bay View Inn that does bar food and has a restaurant. Other restaurants in the village are Bridge View House and Old Creamery.
There is a village post office & shop for milk, bread and other essentials and a community run market shop that sells local craft products. On summer Sundays there is a street market outside Eileen's.
Kilcrohane is the ideal base for exploring the Sheep's Head Way, a 60 mile walking route around the peninsula. There is also a cycle route.
